PATTERN INFORMATION

The simple, low-waisted maxi skirt is worked from the top down with a smooth and even A-shape, which is shaped by working evenly spaced increases. The skirt starts with an elastic edge, which is worked double and folded over an elastic ribbon (adjusted to your measurements) - perfect for a nice and comfortable fit around the hips. You choose how long the skirt should be - the last part is worked straight without increases, so you can easily adjust the length to your height and taste.

The pattern is worked in stockinette stitch on small needles (3.00 mm / US 2.5”) to create a draping silhouette.

Techniques used in the pattern:

  • Cast on and working in the round

  • Turning ridge and fold with inserted elastic ribbon

  • Joining the live stitches and cast-on edge

  • Right leaning increases before stitch markers

The pattern is suitable for intermediate knitters who have tried working in the round and want a larger project with repetitions. The pattern is written step-by-step with instructions for 7 sizes (XXS-XXL). The model in the pictures is 180 cm tall and wearing a size S.
